Luxe Lodge

Black stained oak chest, hair on hide bench, cozy fabrics and wallcoverings, wool throw blankets and a bowl full of antlers...  It's 100 degrees in Austin right now, but now I'm dreaming of fall.
Check out this latest ad from Schumacher. Luxe Lodge Fall 2012. The mirror and lamps are their newest introductions.

A white, wood and neon loft space

Back in Scandinavia I thought I'd go all out white and wood today. But with a twist. Neon lighting. YAAAAY! This fab loft space in Canada belongs to fashion blogger and stylist Katharine Horsman and was photographed by Janis Nicolay for House and Home. I'm still drooling over the natural wood kitchen table. And of course the neon lighting over the bed - very very cool.

Can't get a proper idea just how fab it is from the pics? Well, guess what - there's a video of this home too!

Have a lovely evening!

Philip Ficks Portfolio

I don't often post about food, but it is a huge passion of mine so sometimes, if I'm in the mood for something sweet or naughty, some culinary photos will find their way here... The food looks amazing in these photos, as does the styling and of course the photography.  This is the first time I've come across Brooklyn based photographer

Philip Ficks and I can tell you, it won't be the last

Welcome to my newest sponsor!

I don't think I could find a store that could sell more of the most beautiful iconic

Danish designs available today, so I am very proud to have Danish Design Store

collaborate with Lovenordic.  To celebrate this, Danish Design Store has created

an exclusive discount to all Lovenordic readers!

This is going to be my first offer of the month, which I will be doing every

month from now on.

I have decided to hand pick my favourite pieces from the store -

which was quite difficult as it is bursting with beautiful Danish design!

.....and they DO ship internationally, so these pieces are accessible to all!

1.Of course, the one and only Bestlite.

Designed by Robert Dudley Best, made by Gubi.

STILL on my wish-list and will be until I get one....or two :)

2.Hans J Wegners Wishbone chair.

Made by Carl Hansen

Love, love love.

3.Designed in the 50's and still going strong.

Arne Jacobsens Egg chair,

made by Fritz Hansen

I've hankered after many easy chairs, but keep coming back to this one.

I can't decide whether I would choose the tan leather or grey fabric....

4.Ross Lovegroves's Aeros Pendant, designed 2008,

made by Louis Poulsen

I love ornate detailing against an industrial backdrop.

Just beautiful.

5. In my opinion, mixer-taps don't come more yummy than this.

Arne Jacobsens Tap, made by Vola.

Tap perfection!

Look out for some more of my favourites from this store.

There are too many to mention in one post!

Design of a House: Good vs. Exceptional Design

Bonin Architects believes in curtailing the negative impact of construction on the natural environment, reducing consumption of non-renewable resources, minimizing waste, and promoting a healthy living environment.

Good design is the first step towards a sustainable future. Exceptional design of a housewill:

  • Reduce the size of your new house. A thoughtful, simplified and intuitive house design results in a more efficient house plan.
  • Integrate your home with its natural surroundings, take advantage of natural features and extend your living space beyond the walls of your home.

  • Minimize operating and maintenance costs. As fuel and material prices rise, an efficient home will consume less fuel, while durable materials and high quality construction will limit maintenance costs.
  • Prove to be a wise investment. Elegant house plan designs that anticipate future changes in technology, use and lifestyle retain their value.

Bonin Architects has architects and landscape architectswho deliver inspirational design solutions, quality client service, superior communication and a personalized project approach.

The greatest opportunity for a well designed home lies in the onset of the process…call us or visit our website for more information on the process of designing a house that maximizes positive effects and reduces negative impact on your family and the environment.

Back in action 5 days a week on Monday 30th July , have a fantastic week!

A cool white and rustic retreat on Mykonos

With rain and more rain in Sweden and England this summer I think it's time to pack the bags and head to Mykonos, Greece (dreaming of course).  This peaceful, rustic holiday home decorated using cool white and local raw materials could just about be the perfect retreat. Oh so beautiful, thank you 79 ideas for the tip!

Back to planet earth, and London. On Monday night I went to the launch party of The Tanks at Tate Modern. I'm still recovering from the great party! The Tanks open to the public today with an exciting art in action summer programme, although just experiencing the awesome industrial-concrete chambers is worth a visit in itself!

Have a fab week and see you Friday!
